Creative Community Manager

Discord bots

I always look for ways to improve the community and make things easier for the volunteers working behind it. One of the ways I did this was by creating fully customised Discord bots for different needs.

One example is a moderation panel I created as an all-in-one command. Instead of having to use multiple commands or check different places, volunteers could manage most moderation tasks from the same panel.

They could check a user’s profile, apply sanctions, add notes to their record for future reference, edit their roles, or contact them privately without having to use their personal Discord account to send the message.

The goal was simple: friendly to navigate, keep information organised in a private space totally secured and filling the team’s need.

Another big update was Logs. A lot of free bots, have some logs. However, the detail and the organization in one type of log per thread is something that is usually behin a paywall.

I could track moderation actions, user activity and other relevant changes, making it easier to review what happened, when it happened and who was involved. This also provided a reliable record for future reference when handling repeated issues or reviewing moderation decisions.

Another example for volunteers was the communication in Direct Messages. As I teasered previously shortly, I built a system to allow them to talk by the bot, which helped to protect our volunteers from bad actos in the community. It was a safe veil for Staff level too, as we could see how our mods were interacting with them in case we needed to investigate.

Last example regarding the needs of the community. I have created a lof of commands in base the growing and activities we were hosting. In the example’s case, we decided to create a loyalty shop by participating in Community Events. Every participation would provide some coins and winning one will provide even more. Players would be able to exchange them on the shop by some special items in our games.

I also included full detailed logs for every step, a way to provide/remove coins by commands, a leaderboard, etc.

Stream as Community Manager

One of my daily tasks in gamigo as a Community Manager was to take care of Social Media. On them, from time to time, with my fellows, we created some streamings to engage them even more in the community.
